This week of festivity consists of traditional cordoba dressed citizens, a horse cavalry named the Cabalgata and the members who carry a statue of both the holy Mary and Jesus towards their towns church. “Y a mi me gusta soberear, La yerba la yerbabuena. Un cante por solea, y una voz quebra y serena.”&nbsp; “Una guitarra y tus ojos, Ai al laito de una candela.” This time it’s my turn to translate the joy that is experienced when I return to my Spanish home and its familiarities. Each feria takes place in every different area of Spain at a different time, making sure that people can experience it more than once a year. The Feria consists of a week of dressed locals in traditional Cordoba outfits, the cavalry and their horses during the cabalgata, the overall crowd who carries the religious holy Mary and Jesus to church for kilometres long by foot and the drinking, dancing in the Casetas for both young and old.This time it’s my turn to translate the joy that is experienced when I return to my Spanish home and its familiarities. current&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; The story: A Biomaterial garment is created from an abundance of a vegetable waste stream in The Netherlands. From food waste to fashion design. “The intention of Boertex is to experiment with the vegetable waste and my job as a fashion designer is to explore whether it is possible to make a “current” design using this biomaterial. A final prototype is made with textile alternatives to raise awareness around material innovation.” Why take on this area of design? My role as a designer is to push the limitations to Design and to explore new material advancements. Keeping up to date with current innovations, is one way of discovering new methods that tackle the unsustainable textile productions and systems. Boertex therefore challenges circular systems, designs and creative thinking and the brand considers the physical properties and behaviour a material carries when biofabricated. Looking at alternative materials as part of a sustainable lifestyle.
